Before I started learning about affiliate marketing and online business, my life looked very different.

I completed my Master of Philosophy degree and worked as an Assistant Lecturer at a government university. Education has always been an important part of my life, and I genuinely enjoyed teaching, learning, and helping others develop new skills.

After becoming a mother, I made the personal decision to step away from my professional career and focus on raising my children.

While I was grateful for the opportunity to spend more time with my family, I also wanted to continue learning, growing, and exploring new opportunities that could fit around family life.

That’s when I became curious about making money online. Like many beginners, I started searching for ways people were earning income from home.

I came across online surveys, reward websites, and countless “make money online” opportunities. I spent hours completing surveys and small online tasks, hoping they would provide a meaningful source of income. The reality was disappointing. The time I invested rarely matched the rewards. After spending hours answering questions and completing tasks, I often earned only a few cents.

More importantly, I realised I wasn’t building anything for the future. I wasn’t developing valuable skills. I wasn’t creating an asset. I was simply trading my time for very little return. That experience taught me an important lesson. Instead of searching for quick money, I needed to learn how real online businesses actually work.

As I continued researching, I discovered concepts such as affiliate marketing, blogging, SEO, content creation, and website ownership. For the first time, I could see a path that focused on building something long term rather than chasing short-term opportunities. The more I learned, the more I realised that many beginners face the same problem I faced.

There is no shortage of information online. The challenge is knowing where to start. One website recommends blogging. Another recommends YouTube. Others promote dropshipping, Amazon FBA, freelancing, or countless other business models. For beginners, the amount of information can feel overwhelming.
